WatOR is a non-profit startup trying to tackle the problem of widespread Iron Deficiency Anemia and other preventable nutritional deficiencies using water fortification. We have invented a low cost, unique product to filter & fortify water with iron & other micronutrients.
Premix
One Step at a Time
We prepare the mineral blends containing iron, magnesium, calcium and other B vitamins at our in-house lab facility. Then each batch is screened for toxins and adulterants by FSSAI approved ICMR lab before packaging.
Product
Reinforcing our Commitment
The product attaches to the individual water faucets to meter out tiny, calibrated amounts of mineral & vitamin blends into the stream of passing water. The device neither require an attendant nor any additional energy source in operation.
Hidden Hunger, Malnutrition and Iron Gap
Anemia affects more than 55.3% women, 24% men and 69.5% of children in India. Meanwhile, nearly 100,000 children are thought to be born with neural tube defects each year in India.
Why water fortification?
Worldwide, the most widespread micronutrient deficiencies are iron, iodine, zinc, vitamin A and folate, four of them soluble in water.
Several minerals salts of calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, copper occur naturally in most sources of drinking water, but unfortunately these healthy minerals get removed by any good water filter or purification system. In the long run, RO purified water stripes away minerals from our bodies and drinking water without essential minerals is detrimental to health.
Thus ingesting small, calibrated portions of WatOR's mineral blends throughout the day at the source of drinking water is a more subtle, efficient and healthy way to replenish your body with vitamins and minerals it needs as opposed to taking a multivitamin/iron supplements
